ABOUT

Hi, I’m James.

Founder of The Mindfulness Collective

In the early 2000s, James embarked on learning about mindfulness meditation and Buddhist psychology through private studies and courses.  He has been diligently practicing meditation for the past five years and has recently trained with the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation (OMF) to teach Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Life, Finding Peace in a Frantic World, and Introduction to Mindfulness courses.  Most recently, James has launched The Mindfulness Collective with the ultimate aim of bringing together teachers and practitioners from around the world for mindfulness practice and development.

James is also a regular volunteer with Gaia House in England, supporting online retreats where he has had to opportunity to practice with many of today’s most prominent teachers of mindfulness meditation and insight meditation.

When he isn’t teaching, James can be seen on many of the international opera stages across the world, performing many different and varied characters. As a musician, he is also working to bring mindfulness practice to the forefront of the musical theatre arts.

OUR Approach

We all have hang ups in life and we at the Mindfulness Collective are no different. We work by learning from each other, through non-judgemental self-discovery and taking the time to question what’s going on and how to respond to it.

Dream it

If you dream of something happening then there is a way to make it possible. It might take time and hard work, but we are here to help.

Build it

Look at your current life situation… make the changes that you want to by continuing to challenge yourself, even when it seems unsurmountable and you want to give up.

“I would say that uncertainty is still there as much as at the beginning of the pandemic, but the way I cope with it has really changed thanks to my practice. I keep surprising myself by creating new ways of dealing with challenges as they appear. It is as if my repertoire of positive actions is expanding as my need to take refuge in harmful behaviours is diminishing, while blaming myself less and less for the moments when I do indulge. Now that I am looking back I can say that my growth didn't stop when we finished our eight weeks together. The habits that I learned during the course have proven more beneficial the more time I dedicate to them and the more I practice. MEL was for me the beginning of a new, more honest and wholesome path for me to walk and I'm already collecting the benefits of it..”
