Sitting with Difficulty

This week we started to work directly with difficulty and turning our awareness to it. Here are two practices to work with this week to see what you notice.

The first is a generic practice that you can call on at any time. The second is the practice we did at the start of the session this week.

Sitting Practice

On alternate days to doing the Sitting with Difficulty practice, use this audio for a typical sitting practice and notice what arises from your experience.

Befriending Practice

This week we looked at how bringing compassion to ourselves and others can be a way of working with difficulty as it arises. Here are two practices to help you work with difficulty when you notice is it here.

The first is a generic practice of befriending and the second is the practice I led you through this week in the session.

3SBS with Compassion

Sometimes there isn’t much time to sit and do a full Befriending Practice so you might be able to call upon the 3SBS with compassion as a way of bringing some care and compassion to yourself when difficulty is present.
